Atlanta's eagleTEFL Certificate is the perfect way to get started in teaching English in Japan or anywhere in the world. 100-hr, 120- or 150-hr option.
For people with little or no teaching experience or those early in their teaching career who wish to acquire new skills, knowledge and experience in the EFL classroom.
Study course materials from the convenience of your home. Lesson topics include TESOL methodology, student engagement, classroom management, teaching grammar, speaking, reading, listening, and writing, and conducting assessments. Native English-speaking Teaching Assistants assist you through video lessons along the way.
Location: Onsite in Nagoya, Japan or through the submission of teaching videos
TEFL students get hands-on experience teaching real classes to children and adults, one-on-one to larger groups at the conversation school, and teaching children in nearby nursery schools and elementary schools. If you are doing the program fully online and have access to your own classroom, you can obtain a 120-hr certificate through the submission of teaching videos. You can also do the practicum onsite in Nagoya and earn a 150-hr certificate.
Professional Instructors and Teaching Assistants are native speakers of English. Instructors are Cambridge Delta-certified and/or have Masters degrees with have over 10 years of EFL teaching experience in Japan. Teaching assistants have at least two years of EFL teaching experience.

A quick video interview and online test will be conducted after applying to demonstrate English competency. Non-native speakers should have very good written and spoken fluency in order to complete the assignments and 1:1 tasks.
There are no deadlines for the online course as we have rolling admissions.
100 hours of online instruction and 20 or 50 hours of practicum (hands-on teaching experience)
Earn 120-hr certificate at your own pace (12 credits x 10 months) to be completed within three years. (*10 monthly payments, or two payments of ￥60,000; first at start of program and second after 60 credits competed.) Teacher must have access to their own classroom for the practicum.
There is no fee to apply!
Includes approximately 100-hours of online study materials and direct feedback on written assignments. (*10 credits x 10 months; 10 monthly payments to completed at the student's own pace within three years.)
30 hours of hands-on teaching with feedback from Atlanta Eagle TEFL instructors. Teach in real classrooms and get professional advice. Completion of 120-hr course plus an additional 30 hours of graded teaching practice in Nagoya, Japan. Can be done on consecutive days or spread out over a few months. Entire program must be completed within three years. (*three payments of ￥60,000; first at start of program; second after 60 credits; third after 120 credits.)
50 hours of hands-on teaching with feedback from Atlanta Eagle TEFL instructors. Teach in real classrooms and get professional advice. Completion of 100-hr course plus an additional 50 hours of graded teaching practice in Nagoya, Japan. Can be done on consecutive days (over two weeks) or spread out over a few months. Entire program must be completed within three years. (*three payments of ￥70,000; first at start of program; second after 60 credits; third after 120 credits.)
After acceptance to the program, students can reserve their place by paying the non-refundable administrative fee.
